Linkham Services establishes encompassing travel insurance platform
GENRIC is Linkham’s insurance partner.
Linkham Services SA is introducing an end-to-end online travel insurance platform in South Africa, allowing policyholders to get a quote, buy and have the policy fulfilled online, opening a new chapter in service and customer centricity for South African clients.
Linkham, an international company with a novel travel insurance proposition and innovative distribution platform, wanted to enter the South African market through a reputable partner and a flexible framework to drive the product to the market. GENRIC Insurance Company, an A- rated short-term niche insurer, fitted the profile and saw the opportunity to partner with Linkham to create South Africa’s first online travel insurance portal.
“We are proud to be launching this product in South Africa as part of our overall strategy to bring innovative products to South Africans in an effort to enhance the customer journey, create options for the South African insured and provide an ease-of-use experience for the policyholder,” says Grant Douglas, General Manager at Linkham Services SA.
“The platform allows groups of people, couples, families or single persons, to buy insurance for multiple trips or a single trip,” he adds.
The travel insurance can stand alone or work well as an add-on to medical aids and on other policies offered by brokers.
Linkham Services SA offers insurance cover from emergency services while abroad and medical assistance in the event of injury or sickness, to group business travel insurance, baggage loss and public liability, among some of the features.
“It made sense to partner with a company whose motivations are not dissimilar from our own and which is also focussed on technology and creating smarter, simpler ways to insure,” Douglas explains.
GENRIC believes that Linkham will enhance the way travel agencies, airlines and other travel services will conduct business.
